The joint venture aims to leverage the joint strengths of HAL and Samtel to achieve excellence in the area of development, manufacturing and product support of various systems and devices for airborne as well as ground applications. The co-operation shall build indigenous capability to develop and manufacture these systems of strategic importance.

The JV aims to induct cockpit displays (MFDs, HUDs, HMDs and ISIS) across all platforms of HAL with Samtel-HAL JV's products. The tentative line of products includes:

Cockpit Displays i.e MFD, SMFD, HUD, HMD & ISIS

Ground test equipment / Simulators for Avionic LRUs

Displays for Automobile application

Displays for Ground based Military application

Displays for Training Simulators

Displays for Industrial Process Control applications

IADS (Integrated architecture display systems) for Glass Cockpit

Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) of avionics LRUs & systems

The above products would be based on cutting edge technologies as suitable to each application from the point of view of performance, reliability, size, lightweight and cost effectiveness. The JV shall engage into R&D activities for evolving suchtechnologies, which will be used in its products.

The JV plans to market the display products developed and manufactured by it in theIndianas well as the International market. Its customers would include military and civil aircraft as well as commercial sector users.

Initially, the JV aims to cater to the requirements of Indian military aircraft and helicopter programs, extending to serve the requirements of the Indian Civil and Commercial market, eventually taking up International projects.
